Performance review最常犯的錯：努力了一整年，卻敗在幾個英文用字

又到了第四季，許多外商都要寫 self-review，或進行 performance review。這份報告不只是例行公事，更是讓主管看見價值、爭取升遷加薪的好機會。

但挑戰往往不在於「沒有貢獻」可寫，而是如何用英文表達得專業又自然。稍一疏忽，常常就掉進中式英文的陷阱。

Fanny是一家科技公司的專案經理。在self-review報告裡，她寫下：“I am very confidence that I complete all my tasks very hardly. I always discuss about the project with my teammates. Sometimes I help my supervisor to growth.”

看起來像英文，但錯誤連連。這些錯誤，其實正是職場人士最常犯的幾個。

錯誤一：形容詞名詞搞混

我很有把握／很有信心

（Ｘ）I am very confidence…

（Ｏ）I am very confident…

Confidence 是名詞，「信心」；Confident 纔是形容詞，「有信心的」。

錯誤二：副詞誤用

我很努力完成了所有的任務。

（Ｘ）I complete all my tasks very hardly.

（Ｏ）I worked very hard to complete my tasks.

這句其實變成「我幾乎沒有完成任何任務」。因爲 hardly 在英文裡是「幾乎不」的意思。

錯誤三：多餘的介係詞

我經常和團隊討論專案

（Ｘ）I always discuss about the project with my teammates.

（Ｏ）I always discuss the project with my teammates.

Discuss 已經包含「討論」的意思，不需要再加 about。

錯誤四：動詞用錯場合

（Ｘ）I help my supervisor to growth.

（Ｏ）I support my supervisor with reports and coordination.

（Ｏ）I help my team grow by improving efficiency.

首先，growth 是名詞，應該用動詞 grow。但就算改成 I help my supervisor to grow，在職場語境裡仍不自然。因爲主管通常不會被表述爲「成長」。

怎麼寫纔好呢

把這些錯誤修正後，Fanny的自評會是這樣：

“I am very confident that I worked hard to complete all my tasks this year. I consistently discuss project issues with my teammates to ensure alignment. I support my supervisor by preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and helping the team grow by improving efficiency. I am proud of the contributions I made and the goals I achieved.”

同樣的內容，換成正確又專業的英文，主管讀起來感受完全不同。

在績效考覈裡，英文不是裝飾，而是專業展現。避免直翻中文，用字精準、搭配正確，你的努力才能被看見。記得少用模糊的 help，多用 support、contribute、achieve、streamline 這類職場常用動詞，讓自評不只是「交作業」，而是「展示影響力」。
